I am an 8th grade American History teacher at Elizabeth Forward Middle School which is located about 20 miles South of Pittsburgh, PA. My class curriculum spans the Pre-Columbian Era all the way up to The Reconstruction Period post-Civil War. My cohort and I like to integrate as much technology as possible in our lessons and activities. Our school implemented a one-to-one initiative in 2012 where every student is equipped with an Apple iPad tablet. We try to do everything we can to ensure that our students will graduate as global citizens.
Some of the things I like to do is play golf, hockey, bike, and coach. I graduated from California University of Pennsylvania in 2012 with a Bachelor's of Science in Education and currently attend the same university for my Master's in Educational Leadership.

George Washington: A Mythical Being
<p>In my lesson, I projected my collection through AppleTV on a screen in the front of class. I tried to play on the students' imagination and have them think about whom this character could be. Their objective was to point out specific details in the image and voice them to class. I did not have them begin guessing who the "Mythical Being" was until we got to the 7th slide. The farther we progressed, the students began to put more and more clues together. This was a good anticipatory set to our cartoon activity pertaining to George Washington's 110 Rules of Civility and Decent Behavior.</p>
