Public and Private Photography During the Civil War
Webinar in which curator Shannon Thomas Perich presents Civil War-era photographs to show how photography was incorporated into everyday lives, and how we value those photographs today as historical objects. Objects include an 1860 Rutgers College yearbook, Alexander Gardner's 'Sketchbook of the War,' glass-plate negatives by Mathew Brady, and Lincoln portraits incorporated into cartes-de-visite albums.
