Dolly Persaud

Dolly Persaud, a student of Sociology and Gender Studies, presents some of the Smithsonian’s collection of resources on Afrofuturism.

Thank you for reading my collection on Afrofuturism. This Smithsonian Learning Lab collection is based on a class assignment for Sociology and Gender at Montgomery College. This collection is paired with a series of learning tools and readings, focusing on the contribution of African American artists, musicians, writers, filmmakers, designers, photographers, and social activists. The collection highlights conversations surrounding Afrofuturism expansion, which honors the past but also envisions a future that embraces and celebrates African American culture and identity.
