Peach Seed Carving with Roger Smith

Roger Smith first began carving as a child when he would use his pocket knife to make wooden versions of the toys he and his brother had seen in the local store. After serving his nation as a combat Marine in Vietnam, he began working at DuPont in Columbia, Tennessee. It was there one day, while on lunch break, he began carving on a leftover peach pit to see if he could create the head of a pig. He loved the challenge, and soon found himself carving a wide variety of highly detailed pieces featuring animals, people, and a variety of objects. He even created entire dioramas populated with his carvings including a baseball game, a church, and even an entire town named "Peachseedville".
