A examination of currency from various cultures and eras.
Notes to Other Users
My intention for this collection is to support students' understanding of how civilizations produce and eventually store goods, and how the formation of currency allows for trade of those goods by proxy. We will look at currency as a piece of evidence that points to a society's evolution beyond direct trade of goods and the transition to systems where the currency represents a related value both conceptually, and through the collective agreement of what constitutes precious metals. However, I thought I would share it out before annotating instructionally as such since the objects present a variety of other interesting topics including math, art, economics, culture, and more. Feel free to copy and annotate for your learning needs.
