Dance card from Staunton Military Acadamy's Final Ball of the year on June 4, 1929. Its four paper pages have celluloid covers front and back and an attached cord and tassel. All twelve lines for dances have been filled with names.

SMALL, THIN-BLADED, NARROW PADDLE MADE OF VERY LIGHT WOOD APPARENTLY USED IN A WAR DANCE. THE UPPER PORTION OF THE BLADE IS BROKEN OFF, AND THERE IS A CRACK RUNNING ALMOST THE LENGTH OF THE BLADE. MARKS> HAS ORIGINAL PEALE TAG, ALSO WRITTEN ON PADDLE, "PADDLE OF THE BOX X 26". NOTE ON OLD CATALOGUE CARD STATES, "ATTACHED TAG SAYS 'CLUB USED CEREMONIALLY AS A SYMBOL OF WEAKNESS BY THOSE WHO PLAY THE PART OF THE ENEMY IN THE MEKE NI VALU" (MEANING WAR DANCE).

“Dance Ballerina Dance”

This sheet music is for the song “Dance Ballerina Dance.” Bob Russell wrote the lyrics to the song and Carl Sigman composed the music. The Jefferson Music Company Inc. of New York, New York published this sheet music in 1947. The cover has a large central photograph of Vaughn Monroe, who recorded the song for RCA Victor. Monroe was a popular big band leader and singer during the 1940s and 1950s.
