Face mask

Wood, raffia and cowrie shell face mask composed of an animal head with a superstructure of two quadruped animals on top. The top animal on the proper left has a cowrie shell necklace and the features of the top animals are indistinct. The lower animal mask has high pointed ears and a large mouth with teeth bared. There are low relief carved knobs on the forehead. The mask is attached to a basket of raffia. The entire mask is covered with black paint and there is evidence of light tan paint on the ears, eyes and mouth.

Face mask

Wood face mask with cowrie shells and abrus seeds sparsely decorating it. Many of them are missing. The human face is surmounted by an antelope and both are incised with geometric designs.

Male figure

Shoulder wrap

Single panel off-white cotton textile with knotted fringe. Toward one edge of the cloth is a slightly raised linear zigzag linear pattern and thin white and yellow stripes.

Crest mask

Wood, skin and metal, human face headdress wtih a highly polished golden skin covering the mask with painted black decorations around the eyes and mouth. The mouth is open and showing teeth (front tooth is missing). The eyes, nose, eyebrows and ears are finely carved. The pupils are small black carved dots and there are peg-like projections from the side temples and cheeks. The base has a carved rope.

Tunic

Quilted tunic of cotton batting covered with patchwork pieces of three floral print imported fabrics, edged in red binding. The neck is slit in the front and the collar rises to a peak in back. The skirt is slit in front. The front of the tunic has suffered damage probably from excessive exposure to light. In the blue and red textile which is woven with silk warps, much of the warp fiber is lost leaving the cotton wefts and the underlying batting exposed. In contrast, the reverse in is much better condition.

Head

Ivory head on long cylindrical neck and base. Head has concave heart shaped face, with no eyes and simple, smooth triangular nose, and a hole on top. Overall golden brown tone, darker on neck and concave face.

Female figure

Standing female twin figure on a round base, with glass bead necklace, cowrie shells hanging from the right wrist, glass beads hanging from the left wrist, metal anklets and coconut shell waist beads.

Face mask

Wood face mask representing a hare with flat rectangular face broken by rectangular recesses, containing rectangular cut out eyes. Erect ears on top of head and curved ears on sides of head. Small projection between top ears. Overall traces of red pigment, dark dots, traces of bright blue.

Monkey mask

Flat rectangular wood face mask with monkey figure superstructure. Mask has flat face with pierced square eyes. Monkey figure has thin curved torso with long arms that attach to forehead of face mask, flattened head with slash mouth, rectangular eyes and ears on the side of its head. Mask has overall dark surface.

Stool

Round wood stool supported by a kneeling female figure with upraised arms, raised scarification on the torso, a hairstyle with a cross form projecting from the back of the head and an incised band representing stylized cowrie shells around the edge of the seat and base.

Face mask

Wood face mask with incised parallel lines, triangular nose, semicircular eyes and projecting square mouth. The face is white, the mouth is red and the other features are black. Strands of hair are inserted into the nostrils.
