<p>Growing up as a woman can be hard. We're held to so many standards. We are endangered, always having to watch our backs but keep moving forward. Some women in the world have made a name for themselves and some are still fighting to do the same. We are always reminded that we are strong and independent. </p> <p>This Learning Lab collection was created by Mikayla, 8th grade student. This project, Girlhood Leadership and Learning, was created to support the new exhibit, <em><strong><a href="https://americanhistory.si.edu/girlhood" target="_blank">Girlhood (It's complicated)</a></strong></em> at Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History. </p>
