Marine Life

The wonders below.

This collection is about the life below us. The ocean is like a whole other planet! There is so much still left to explore down there. The objects I have selected are different fish, plant life and ways to take care of the ocean.

It is important to educate ourselves about the fish in the ocean in order to understand how to be around them. They are sometimes more scared of us than we are of them.

We must take care of the ocean and the living creatures that call the ocean home. The ocean is a source of recreation for humans as well as a benefit for everyday life. The ocean covers more than 50% of the planet. The ocean helps eliminate carbon and provide us with oxygen.

Emphasis on moving slowly, using pinching, having a plan, not bumping the tray, etc. If there is time, have one student also try sand painting while teacher and students narrate what they are doing. Ask students, how do we need to feel to do this kind of work? Participate in short yoga video. Transition to tables. Students make sand paintings, teachers document student work with photographs. Afterwards, ask why was it so important for us to feel calm for this work? What did we do to make sure that we felt calm? What would have happened if we were jumping around?

Keywords: yoga, sand, mandala, exercise, sandpainting, Tibetan, American Indian, Two Rivers

#LearnWithTR
