I am a lecturer in Learning Innovation at Griffith University, Brisbane, Australia. I have been trialing and implementing new technologies for many years, both in elementary schools and in higher education. I have previously conducted research in online tools in educational settings, including LAMS, Second Life and Assistive eXtra Learning Environments as well as research in technology integration. I have a keen interest in MLearning and has published various papers pertaining to TPACK and mathematics education. I have also previously had a UQ CIEF grant which used robotics as part of the green city challenge for kids in both Years 1 and 7. My current research projects include a learning design project with Malaysian school teachers called “Teaching on the cloud: Designing for learning” and research in STEM education as I am the academic lead of the STEAM Room Project, which is part of the StepUp OLT grant. I teach both pre-service and in-service teachers in the areas of digital technologies, innovation and leadership.

Inventions: The mousetrap

In the 1800s there were several designs of the mousetrap that came into prominence. This collection shows some of the various designs that were used. One great extension activity is for the students to design and create mousetrap cars.
